Flaine Altaïr, discover a refurbished centre

With its 265 km of slopes, Flaine is one of the main destinations in the Northern Alps. At 1600 m altitude, come and enjoy the lively atmosphere of a modern pedestrianised resort, for a quick "skis on your feet" start.

The new short winter break 2010

 

4 days long weekend breaks with ski instruction. This Evolution formula + is available in the UCPA centres of Flaine Altaïr (refurbished), Flaine les Lindars and Saint Lary.

 

And as always : 

Alpine skiing or snowboarding on or off - piste, cross country skiing, and programmes combining snow and fitness training... All either with or without instruction on the best French slopes. Discover exceptional, unusual and impressive locations, wherever your sporting inclination takes you.


 

 

Speed-riding: try parachute skiing

Skis on your feet facing the slope and parachute on your back, you alternately ski and free fly several feet above ground, in dedicated skiing areas. Accompanied by instructors with double qualifications in skiing and hang gliding, you can launch yourself in complete confidence, starting with hang gliding lessons without skis before moving on to the real thing.

Equipment

Skis and parachutes especially designed for Speed Riding (GIN – Nano) of 13 and 14 m2 surface area.

 

Preparation

A little physical preparation one month before departure is strongly advised (jogging, cycling, gym, swimming). Speed riding is an intense activity which requires a certain physical and mental commitment.

 

Counter indications*

Build up of tiredness, weakness in the legs (history of breaks, frequent sprains); excess weight and insufficient sporting activity can lead to poor reflexes and injuries.
